Metallizing using the arc or thermal spray methods has been done by our company for decades. We have we have sprayed a variety of materials including zinc, aluminum, zinc/aluminum, nickel, copper and stainless steel. We're also familiar with seal coating the metallized surfaces, when the specification calls for it. In many cases metallizing will outperform conventional coatings and provide long term protection for up to 50 years.
Applying thermal sprayed aluminum (TSA) to steel substrates can provide protection from high temperature corrosion. Manifolds, exhaust stacks, and headers are some typical applications for thermal sprayed aluminum.
